Nearly 57 YEARS AGO on October 5th 1962 "The Beatles" recorded their debut single 'Love Me Do' at EMI Studios, London.

John Lennon - vocals/rhythm guitar

Paul McCartney - vocals/bass guitar

George Harrison - lead guitar

Ringo Starr - drums

When the single was originally released in the United Kingdom on 5 October 1962, it peaked at number 17. In 1982 it was re-promoted (not re-issued, retaining the same catalogue number) and reached number four. It was released in the United States in 1964, where it became a number one hit.

The song was written several years before it was recorded, and prior to the existence of the Beatles. The single features John Lennon's prominent harmonica playing and duet vocals by him and Paul McCartney. Three different recorded versions of the song by the Beatles have been released, each with a different drummer.

Subtitles/lyrics have been added for the deaf and hard of hearing... plus we have cleaned up the video to make it look sharper than the original version.

55 YEARS AGO on May 18th 1964 "The Animals" recorded 'House of the Rising Sun' at De Lane Lea Studios, Kingsway, London.

Eric Burdon - vocals

Hilton Valentine - guitar

Alan Price - keyboards

Chas Chandler - bass

John Steel - drums

"House of the Rising Sun" was a trans-Atlantic hit: after reaching the top of the UK pop singles chart in July 1964, it topped the US pop singles chart two months later, on September 5, 1964, where it stayed for three weeks, and became the first British Invasion number one hit unconnected with The Beatles. It was the group's breakthrough hit in both countries and became their signature song.

Subtitles/lyrics have been added for the deaf and hard of hearing... plus we have cleaned up the video and re-colour graded it and look for the colour change at the 01:08 minute mark.
